Nathan Dickerson was the third child of John
G. Dickerson (6 Nov. 1785 - 9 Aug. 1873) and Nancy Green Gaulding
(1784 - 3 Septa 1861). He was born on Friday, August 28th, 1818 the
same year as Emperor Alexander II of Russia. Also that year the flag
of the United States was adopted as having 13 red and white stripes and
20 stars for the existing states at that time. James Monroe was the
fifth president of the USA. Easter Sunday fell on the earliest possible
date (March 22nd), which will not happen again on that date until the year
2285 (467 years). "Silent Night" was composed and first performed
in the Church of St. Nikolaus in Oberndorf, Austria.
Nathan and Nancy were married on Monday, December 7th, 1835 in Charlotte County, VA. That day was the beginning of the first German railway locomotive. |
